There are lots of AirBnB's/VRBO's in the area. We'd recommend staying in Cleveland or Helen to be relatively close to the winery venue.
The Hampton Inn in Helen, GA is right on the river in the middle of the town with lots of things to do, restaurants, and places to get a beverage.
We listed two hotels Cornelia and Clarksville that are great choices, just not as much to do right around that area.
Are children invited to the wedding?
Take the night off and leave the little ones at home! We politely request no children attend the ceremony and reception. We understand this is a destination wedding -- if your little ones will be traveling to Georgia with you, please feel free to let us know. Thank you in advance for understanding.
Are you having a gift registry?
As established 40'something adults, we have decided not to have a gift registry. The best gift you can give us is to share in our North Georgia wedding weekend! If you feel compelled, we would love to enjoy a bottle of YOUR favorite wine when we are at home in Alaska together in between our busy airline schedules. Due to logistical challenges between the Lower 48 and Alaska, it would be preferable to send it directly to our home. But Sean says "new snowmachines (snowmobiles) are always welcome ;)"
Where do you recommend flying in to?
Atlanta International Airport is 1h45 minutes from Cleveland, GA and 1h50m from Helen, GA. ATL will be the closest major airport to the wedding venue. If you are going to spend time in any of the mountain surrounding areas, Asheville/AVL (2h30m northeast), Chattanooga/CHA (2h30m northwest) and Greenville/GSP (1h45m northeast) are great regional airports served by multiple airlines.
What activities do you recommend doing
There is great hiking, waterfalls, "leafing," sightseeing and wineries in the North Georgia Mountains. Helen, GA is a cute Bavarian town just north of Cleveland. We will work on putting together a list of things to do!
